Passing it on

Carnival survives when each generation teaches the next. Our programs keep the meaning of carnival alive, not just the party.

  • Emancipation Day March

Every August 1, we march to remember the day slavery ended across the British Empire in 1834, and the ancestors who turned freedom into a festival. All are welcome.

  • Volunteer with us

Caribana was built by volunteers, and it still is. We need help with events, archiving photos, recording elders' stories and running our programs.

  • Partners and sponsors

Want to support Caribana's heritage work? We welcome partners who share our commitment to the culture and its history.
